STEM Co-Teacher
Reporting to the Director of the Upper School, The STEM Co-Teacher coordinates and collaborates with volunteer and adjunct instructors (industry professionals) to deliver high-quality instruction and support to students. This role involves managing the class grade books and, at times, co-planning, co-teaching, and co-assessing student progress to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment. The Co-Teacher works closely with the volunteer and adjunct instructors to meet the diverse needs of all students and to foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture.

Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Support:
Coordinate the class instructional calendar with the instructors.
Collaborate with the instructors to offer assistance in their plan for implementing engaging and differentiated lesson plans.
Co-teach lessons, providing direct instruction to small groups or the entire class as needed.
Assist in the development and use of instructional materials and resources as needed.
Classroom Management:
Support the instructors in maintaining a positive and orderly classroom environment.
Implement and enforce classroom rules and procedures consistently.
Assist with managing student behavior and addressing disciplinary issues as they arise.
Student Assessment:
Participate in the assessment of student progress through formal and informal methods.
Provide feedback to students and their families on their performance and progress.
Maintaining accurate gradebook records of student achievement and growth.
Individualized Support:
Communication:
Maintain open and effective communication with the instructors, students, parents, and other staff members.
Participate in parent-teacher conferences, team meetings, and professional development sessions.
Share observations and insights about student progress and classroom dynamics with the instructors.
Classroom Preparation:
Assist in setting up and organizing the classroom for instruction and activities.
Ensure that classroom supplies and materials are maintained and available as needed.
Help create a welcoming and stimulating classroom environment through displays and decorations.
Professional Development:
Stay current with educational best practices, trends, and innovations.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Reflect on teaching practices and seek feedback for continuous improvement.
