Kindergarten Teacher
Lake Ridge Academy is seeking a kindergarten teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. As a member of the LRA Lower School team, the teacher will be responsible for all aspects of the classroom experience for students and families. Candidates must be comfortable designing and delivering developmentally-appropriate, engaging lessons in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning supported by dynamic curricular resources in a collaborative environment. We seek skilled, flexible, creative educators who focus on the developmental needs of early elementary students.
In addition to teaching their classes, the teacher will participate in the life of the school as determined by the Director of Lower School. Salary is commensurate with other independent schools in the Midwest.
Responsibilities:
Build respectful, supportive, learning focused relationships with students
Collaborate with other teachers, the student support team, and specialists to meet the needs of students and develop a dynamic, cohesive curriculum
Deliver high-quality, intentional instruction
Develop strong home-school partnerships and communicate with families clearly, frequently, and with cultural sensitivity
Participate in school-wide initiatives and events
Engage in ongoing professional development and growth
Qualifications:
B.A. required. Master’s Degree and/or Teaching Certificate preferred
Lead teaching experience preferred
Strong command of child development, including social, emotional, and intellectual domains
Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
Preference for familiarity with some of our core resources and methodologies: Responsive Classroom, Envision Mathematics, Science of Reading resources, Project-Based Learning resources, Natural World Curriculum resources
